Here I will inform all members, new and old, how I expect you to present yourselves, and I will explain our ranking system.

Professionalism, professionalism, professionalism. A personal rule of mine is treat everyone as a friend until they have proven themselves otherwise.

Extend and maintain respect for all airsofters, yes, even the little child soldiers of Africa with their Wallmart guns. We were all there, and they look up to us and watch us whether you think it or not. Present yourself in a way someone would want to aspire to. We can become a name in the airsoft community in more ways than combat prowess.

Pretty simple, don't ass it up. This doesn't prohibit goofing off, not at all, but show respect for your fellow sportsmen.

Alright, ranks. We have a multi-tier system that includes Senior members, Junior/Regular members, Recruits, and Applicants.

-Senior is a member who actively contributes to the team, has played with us for at least a year or two, and shows a willingness to lead, recruit new members, tactical awareness and skill on the field, and gets along with everyone. Seniors should also have the knowledge and skill to be able to fill more than just one roll on the team should the need arise

-Junior/Regular members make up the bulk of our firepower. They will train in the role they have chosen for themselves and support their fireteam through their specialty. They aren't restricted to their initial role decision, however if they wish to cross-train, they will need to contact the Senior leadership so adjustments can be made accordingly. Junior/Regular members will be expected to wear the Ricochet uniform during team games with the appropriate patch on the left shoulder.

-Recruits are individuals who show promise and drive to join the team. Recruits have no set position in the team or on any Fireteam/squad, to achieve member status and earn their Ricochet patch, they must perform in the role they wish to fill during a team game with two or more senior members present.

-Applicants are people who may have heard of our team and show interest, but may have not played with us yet. They might be friends of friends, or a stranger we met on the field. Either way, if they show potential and demonstrate a demeanor that coincides with how we operate, they are welcome to try out.

As far as ranking on an individual level in regards to our Romeo call-signs (as an example, I am Romeo-1, or R-1), these numbers only represent the time in which we joined. The tier in which you exist is what decides how much pull you have. That said, just because Romeo-18 is now a Senior, that doesn't mean he can start changing the world. Remember customs and courtesies and seek counsel with the next tier up if a member of equal standing is acting in a manner that compromises their position on our team.

In short, run it up the chain. If you have thoughts about something or an idea, or a problem with another member, know that you can always come to me. I will always find a peaceful middle ground if one can be achieved.

This is a good guide line, R1. I think all new members should be required to read this and to fully understand it.

Also would like to put in:

Seniority of the Original Four (Kyle, Sean, myself and Jacob) is more senior than anyone who becomes Senior through a year+ of playing on the team. People newly elected to Senior status should not let it go to their heads until they have blatantly demonstrated their dedication and have a contribution that stands out among other contributions (Kyle founded the team, Sean and I designed the youtube page, Facas helped organize the fire teams with Kyle, Dom and Ian set up this forum, etc).

To be considered Senior you need to have contributed in at least one significant way, such as recruiting members to the team who perform excellently

Yes, what David says is good, in that the most senior members have seniority and the final decision when it comes down to choices for the team.

I offer this as a fix that could make it less confusing... why not make you four (Kyle, Sean, David, Jacob) just founding members - a rank above senoir

The reason I wouldn't put us down as "Founding Members" is because myself and Facas did not help start the team. I came in a year or two after its initial creation, and then recruited Facas. I simply happened to stay on the team while everyone else left or took a hiatus. I have thought about quitting the team over mild disputes before, but I've never actually left, due to Kyle talking me out of it. Neither has Facas.

Ricochet did take kind of a hiatus as an entire team when Kyle and I went to basic and boot camp, but when I got out, we got Sean and Facas back with us and started forming Ricochet into what it is today.

Maybe we could be called "Command Seniors" or just "Commanders" so that when other members become Seniors, we don't have a conflict of authroity. The 4 of us will always be the most senior members on the team due to how long we've been on it and how much we've contributed into forming the team into what it is today.

In short, I think we should be called Commanders, and while anyone can attain senior rank, Commander is only attainable if we allow it

Why not both. Make our actual title command seniors but everyone will refer to us as commanders
