Re: Upgrading mah gun
Being a DM isn't a shortstop to being a sniper. This post may prompt me to make post describing each "class" actually.
Anyways, for medium-long range, accurate engagement with an M4, you want:
A long barrel, anywhere from 16 to 20 inches
A tightbore inner barrel. You can get away with a longer inner barrel than your outer by covering the excess with a suppressor.
High grade BBs, the heavier they are, the less they will be affected by wind and the more inertia they carry. So while you might not have a faster traveling BB, these suckers are carrying energy, energy that the elements have to defeat to deflect.
Rate of fire isn't as important with this mindset, semi-auto should be your home with your rifle. Focus on a stable gearbox with FPS in the high threes to 420ish and be aware of field mandated engagement distances.
--Extras--
Optics, some sort of magnified optic to get a clearer picture of your target. Irons are perfectly usable and you should definitely have some in case whatever optic you have goes down, but having a mid range magnified optic will make life that much easier.
A shooting platform. This could be anything from a bi-pod to a backpack. Basically something to brace your weapon against or rest upon to get a stable platform. Bi-pods are good, Grip-pods work too. Keep in mind that a backpack, the side of a tree, or a chunk of cover work just as well, the difference is that the Bi-pod/Grip-pod can be carried with you and deployed on the spot.
And finally, training. It's all well and good to look the part and Gucci out your rifle for the role, but if you don't know what you are doing, you might as well have a wallmart gun.
Seek out knowledge in this regard from wherever you can get it, keep an open mind and consider all angles. I have a little experience in longer range engagement, and however simple my current understanding might be I plan to teach the FUCK out of the whole team when I get back.

Re: Upgrading mah gun
I have probably the closest thing to a dmr on this team and I plan to obtain a legit dmr at some point lol. In the airlift world for a dmr the 3 most important things is a great hop up, tight bore, and fps rating of at least 400fps.
A dmr isn't going to be a cqc weapon so I'd suggest investing in a weapons catch in addition to what Kyle said and use a pistol or s,g for cqc.

Re: Upgrading mah gun
What my gun and hot body look like right now
I got the tight bore - came with my gun. its already pretty long. it has a CQB spring right now so my fps is 260-270 fps with .25gbbs. And got the optics. going to take of the iron sights and eventually make them on 45d mounts. and i want to make my optics up a little more if thats possible.
basiclly what i need is
rhop
spring around 420 fps with .2gbbs so .25s will be right under.
also want rail covers - tan
new suppressor gunna try and go silent
also want tan magpull mags later tho
as for cqb i want to get this USP
going to get a laser pressure switch and slap my noveske on this

Re: Upgrading mah gun
45 degree irons will definitely solve the issue you have there with competing rail space with the scope. And if what you asked is what I think it is, you can raise the hight of your scope, you have to get either a riser or a taller set of scope rings.
