Let the bloodbath begin!

...but seriously, which do you prefer? Im still just starting on peripherals, and I definitely want a forward grip. Problem is, which one do I choose? I have used FVG's on several different occasions, and I loved it. However, I have no experience with the AFG. What do you guys think of it from your own personal experiences with it? I realize how I like them, and which grip suits me better should be the major determining factor on my selection, but, until I get to try an AFG for myself, I would like to hear the opinions of my teammates.

I run an AFG on my M4 here in Korea and I love it. But you have to know it's not a style or this vs. that sort of thing. The AFG is meant to facilitate a specialized set of shooting techniques. While it is an attachment with a purpose beyond comfort, it is certainly comfortable.

This also doesn't mean it's better than your standard vertical fore grip. The AFG just serves as a tool for a set of techniques. I would recommend learning them before getting one so that you can get the most out of it if you ever do get one.

That said, vertical grips are awesome. They take up almost no rail space as opposed to the AFG which occupies all of my bottom rail on a standard length RIS.

Yup, it's a good read loaded with psychological jargon, but it all has a point. The AFG plays a role vs being just another place to grab on your rifle.

Vertical grips are smaller and quite a bit simpler.

The technique that the AFG facilitates is one of the things I plan on teaching everyone when I get back.

Well, the pdf was less informative than I had hoped, but now I know that I do use the "thumb stop" grip technique.

Which brings me to another point: what about a gripstop?

Those work too. I've seen them used with the thumb over bore technique in a "stream lined" AFG fashion.

Nice.

Oh, right, forgot to ask: kyle, do you use the AFG, or the AFG2?
